The Volcano Visitors Box!
Want to visit the new eruption site in the near future? Well, we collected a few things into a discount box that might be of assistance! A large map of the area, a great photography book that shows you the actual eruption and every stage of it, some snacks for the hike, hot chocolate and our very own Best of Reykjavík Guide for the quality time before and after the hike!
This brand new book (published in December 2021) is self published by the Belgian born Jeroen Van Nieuwenhove. It offers a uniquely personal perspective of his journeys to the volcano as he made 44 visits and was there the day the eruption started and also witnessed the very end.
Breathtaking photography accompanied by fun little diary like inputs from the photographer.
The good old foldable map is making a comeback! Planning things out and getting a good idea about a vast area using a tiny screen just isn't doing it for many of us! We want to draw and even write notes on it! Maybe even frame it after the trip!
There is nothing like sitting down on a hillside after a long hike, watching, hearing and smelling an erupting volcano in front of you with an Icelandic herbal tea in hand. Arctic thyme and other hand picked herbs form a perfect balance in this wonderful tea.
Doesn´t matter if it is summer or winter. There will be wind and it will most probably be quite cold. So wear a hat! This one will make you mix in with the locals!
Very good snack to take on a hike! It's rich in protein and energy and super light to bring with in a backpack.
More snack to take with to the volcano. This one is packed with energy for the way back! Lovely vanilla cream biscuits that Icelanders just love! Go especially well with hot chocolate!
You will need a place to stay, a place to eat, a place to drink and dance even! So here is the only guide to Reykjavík you will ever need! You are welcome!
Contents wonderful, but arrived in box almost destroyed
I have ordered a number of times from RG, so know what happened is atypical, yet it was a sad outcome. The box was smashed and almost looked waterlogged. The lovely book was damaged, but everything else (amazingly) arrived in good shape—well, except the newspaper and visitor guide. Alas, these things happen.
An Eruption of Joy and Excitement
It traveled from Iceland to New Kensington Pa USA quickly. The lamb jerky is excellent and the Kream kax and hot chocolate is very good too. I will be using the map and cap when I return to Reykjavik the last week of June 2022
