Hallgrimskirkja Candle Holder by Geislar Gautavík
A beautiful candle holder with a familiar shape. Suitable for those classic 4 hour little tea light candles > .
When lit it will cast a Hallgrímskirkja shaped shadow so place strategically near a wall or such for an added effect.
Both variants are made of plywood.
Something very special to remember your trip to Reykjavík by and fits wonderfully into any Christmas decoration scene.
Designed by and produced in Iceland by Geislar Gautavík.
Pretty But Pricey
It does look pretty, but a bit expensive for what you get. I tried to buy it at the church it depicts in Reyjavik, where they are less expensive, but they were sold out of the white so glad it was available online (the manufacturer does not ship to the US). So glad the product description explains to turn the holder so that the candle is in front of the church, so that you get interesting shadows cast on the wall behind. During the day you can turn it around so candle is in the back, so it looks pretty all day. Took me a minute to figure out that the bare blotch on the base is not a paint defect, but a mini-map of Iceland, a nice touch now that I know what it is.
Tiny holder at a big price
At just over 6 inches (15 cm) the candle holder is much smaller than I expected. Suitable for only a small tea light. With shipping to the US it was quite expensive. The laser cut is well done thru the thin wood. My wife liked it as a trip reminder so I chalk it up to “happy wife happy life”
