Næra - Skyr Snack! Strawberry Skyr Crunch!
We have not found a decent way to send Icelandic Skyr abroad as it heavily depends on refrigeration. But we found this! A local startup that has turned Skyr into delicious snacks! They are healthy, fun, convenient and sustainable.
There is no baking, frying, air drying or freeze-drying so less energy is used than in many other snack production processes. And the little energy used is of course geothermal.

I ordered the Icelandic Skyr Snack, and the Icelandic Cheese Snack. The Cheese Snack was awesome. Flavourful, fun to eat and low-fat cheese but still tasty. The Skyr Snack was a little dry but still good flavour. Plus I ordered a Eldauga t-shirt - all as gifts for someone who loves Iceland and respects the power of the current volcano. Very good value for the cost and a great surprise for my friend.
