Kerti & Spil / Games, cards and candles
Back in the day Icelanders believed that those who didn't get at least "kerti & spil" (e. candles & games/cards) for Christmas would be eaten by the Yule Cat. Keep your loved ones (and your self) from harms way and keep that damn cat hungry.
