Iceland - Contrasts in Nature by Cristopher Lund

From the publisher:

"I can clearly remember how strongly I felt the first time I ventured into the interior of Iceland. In the old days people feared the highlands because they were so unknown. I can relate to that feeling, since I felt very small indeed faced with the vastness and barrenness of these areas. But at the same time I had this strong feeling of connection and oneness with something greater than myself. A feeling of pure love. This feeling is what drives me to photograph. I don’t think I can make a good photograph without it."

Christopher Lund was born 1973 in Reykjavík, Iceland. He grew up with photography and studied mainly through working with his father Mats Wibe Lund who is well known in Iceland for his aerial photography. Chris does all sorts of photography: People, events, landscape and architecture. He also does Fine Art Printing for artists and galleries and prepress work for publishing companies.

He gradually shifted his focus more and more into traveling and landscape photography since this is where his passion lies. In 2009 he decided to become a certified guide and entered the Certified Guide Course in the Continuing Education department of the University of Iceland which he graduatated from in 2010. Now he enjoys doing what he loves most – photography and traveling.
