About the Author
Jón R. Hjálmarsson (1922 - 2018) worked as a travel guide for tourists both foreign and Icelandic for many years. He has published a variety of books, including textbooks and books on history and national scholarship of various kinds. In 1983 Jón was awarded the Order of the Falcon, Icelands biggest honour awarded for merit for Iceland and humanity.
