Learning Icelandic - Text Book
A textbook in Icelandic. It contains 15 reading lessons, a glossary and detailed grammar. Beginners are given a simple but thorough guidance in their first steps into the Icelandic language. All explanations are in English. Each lesson introduces the main grammatical features and rules which are then followed up with exercises. A large number of illustrations supports the text and the book is accompanied with material for listening.
Auður Einarsdóttir, Guðrún Theodórsdóttir, María Garðarsdóttir and Sigríður Þorvaldsdóttir are all experienced teachers of Icelandic for foreigners at the University of Iceland.

Learning Icelandic – Grammar Exercises
A workbook designed to accompany the textbook. The exercises are divided up into seven chapters corresponding to the grammar sections in the textbook, in which basic grammar points are explained. A key to the exercises is found at the back of the workbook. Like the textbook, it is suitable for use in the classroom or for private study.
Guðrún Theodórsdóttir is one of the co-authors of Learning Icelandic. She has an MA in Icelandic grammar and many year‘ experience of teaching Icelandic as a foreign language.
