Liquorice Bombs!
Liquorice and chocolate fans, rejoice. Your favourite combination has come to life in the size of the pebbles of Iceland’s famous black beaches, although thankfully, not an actual rock. Take a bite from one and you’ll swim in the delectable, creaminess of chocolate followed by the strong notes of black liquorice. One of the most common candies in Iceland and an undeniably addictive pairing.
"Bombur" or "Bombs" is something every kid is Iceland knows. If you were a kid in the 90's you remember when the Bombs entered the Icelandic candy scene and a few years later the liquorice version. The world was just never the same after.
Describing candy can be tricky though, but here is an attempt: These are the size of an average big toe and comprise of a liquorice-y, sticky, marshmallow-y substance with caramelle-y consistency, covered in thick, dark layer of chocolate... Addictive!
Ingredients: Sugar, glucose syrup, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, skimmed milk powder, cocoa mass, wheat, stabiliser (sorbitol), liquorice extract, vegetable fat (palm*, palm kernel*, shea, coconut), emulsifier (rapeseed lecithin), ammonium chloride, salt, preservative (sodium benzoate), acid (lactic acid), milk protein (contains traces of sulphite), flavourings, colour (vegetable carbon), glazing agent (shellac). *Sustainable (RSPO). The milk chocolate contains minimum 35% cocoa solids. May contain traces of nuts.
