The puffin is a seabird and is one of the most common migratory birds in Iceland. It stays here from April until September and lays eggs early in June. After its stay, it disappears out to sea and spends the winter in the North Atlantic. The puffin is known for its colorful beak, which is well-suited for catching small fish it finds while diving for food in the sea. The puffin can dive to depths of up to 65 meters and can remain underwater for up to one and a half minutes at a time.
