Beautiful but would like to return

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my 77 year old wife. It is a beautiful cardigan. However, I had not expected the problem that arose. The cardigan style means the wool rubs against her neck and her neck is very sensitive. As a result her neck turns red and it becomes itchy. I would like to return the sweater in its original box. Please let me know how I could do this. I will also look to see if there is a different style that might be much better for her. Please do not publish this review because there is no problem with the beautiful sweater. The problem is ours.
